Welcome to our newest paid subscribers!
Thank you
for upgrading this past week. I can’t wait to get to know you better through our members’ community here, with discussion threads and Q&As planned for this next month on the themes of history reading and writing. In case you missed it
Call for submissions
A reminder that we are still open for submissions for articles to be shared on the Society. We are entirely submission-based, meaning that only articles submitted by writers are posted (i.e., it won’t be my writing!
Thank you to all those who have sent in submissions / are working on writing up their pitches. We are almost fully booked with two guest posts per month for the next three months.
THERE IS ONLY ONE SPACE AVAILABLE FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2024.
Should more than one writer submit work, additional pieces will be scheduled for 2025 (or I will think about creative ways to increase the amount of guest posts per month!! I wouldn’t want to say no to more excellent writing…)

If you’re new here, I’m Holly and I’m passionate about connecting history readers and writers here on Substack while supporting you in your own journey as a writer. I’m currently a PhD student (Medieval Archaeology), and I’m delighted to be here to serve and support you.
If you’re not currently a paid member but you’re thinking of joining us, know that my comments are always open for you to ask any questions you might have before hitting upgrade.
Paid membership starts from just under £7 per month (though there is currently a huge offer on - see below), and gives you access to community, support, and visibility. Each month, we’ll connect as a small group of readers and writers through Q&As and chats, where we support each other in our current projects and queries. You’ll have the option to start your own chat threads, plus exclusive access to the monthly members’ roundup, where your writing is shared with a global readership.
Ready to take the next step in your writing and invest in 1:1 coaching? Join the writer coaching programme to unlock a 60-minute coaching session, year-long email follow up, and access to DMs. There are only four spots left in this current intake, though I plan to open back up in Spring 2025.
I should have found this sooner!!!
