The Society of History Writers accepts submissions of historical writing across all genres and chronological settings. This includes both fiction and non-fiction, such as: historical discussions; book reviews; memoirs; interviews; novel extracts; short stories; etc.

Checklist for sending a submission
Up to 1500 words for non-fiction pieces and up to 3000 words for fiction pieces.
Relating to a historical subject.
Your own, original work.
It must not have been published on Substack before or be scheduled to go live within the next month.
It can be work that has been published off the platform, so long as editors, etc. have given you rights to share.
Please include on your document or in your email:
Your full name (i.e., first and last name)
A link to your Substack and any books, etc. that we can purchase or websites we can visit related to your creative work
A short (2-3 sentence) bio
A photo
